So we've got fitness expert Allison Tibbs here to show us what runners need to get back on their feet. Allison, good morning. Good morning.\n\nThank you. So happy to have you here. We need to talk recovery. Absolutely. That's really where I think people miss the mark.\n\nThey will go, they'll work out, they'll run, and then they don't do proper recovery. And that's where you have injury days. That's where people are like, I'm too sore for this. I'll never work out again.\n\nAnd you're always on that cycle of always being sore. Totally. And this goes for people that are not running the marathon, that are just working out. Absolutely.\n\nAny person who is working out, trying to get healthy, get fit, lose weight, should be doing these recovery tips and making this a lifestyle. Okay, so you have four major tips for us here. So what should people be doing after every workout? So the first thing that you want to do is, I'm a big fan of hot baths.\n\nI love it. It's like the Beyonce in me. It's like, just get really relaxed. And I love using Epsom salt and baking soda.\n\nBaking soda? I've never heard of that. Yes. So the magnesium and some of the components actually pulls out the lactic acid.\n\nSo it really helps to make the muscles relax, but also helps with recovery and the muscles just to really get a nice, calming, just effect for the recovery. So warm bath, and I just pour that in. So it's three to one. So you want three parts of your epsom salt and one part of baking soda.\n\nI do a three cup to one cup ratio. It seems like a lot. I understand, but you can get big bags of it. I travel with a small one of epsom salt whenever I travel, just because I'm always working out, so I never want to be sore.\n\nSo do three to one. You can do essential oils if you want, like lavender or peppermint or tea tree oil. but that's a really perfect. I'm going to try that one and.\n\nGet back to you. Let me know. Okay. This thing is my best friend. Talk to me about the foam roller.\n\nI'm very excited you said that. Most of my clients are so terrified of a foam roller, but the foam roller is a great tool to use not just for recovery, but also before your workout. Huh? Because it helps with muscle prep, but after, when you're working out, your muscles are doing some things, and you want to get those knots out of your muscles.\n\nSo rolling on the foam roller, on your quads, on your shoulders, on your back, on your calves, the thing that you want to remember with foam rolling is once you find a spot that's like really, really tight and really, really sore, see if to stay on that. Spot when it hurts, you know it's working. Exactly. Okay, how about over here?\n\nFood. Nutrition is so important. The most thing you want to remember is just eat your colors. So you want to focus on dark, leafy greens.\n\nYou want to have your fruits, your vegetables. Complete proteins like quinoa is great. Complex carbs like your oatmeal different things like that. This is a great.\n\nThese are my staples. I eat these every single day. Okay. If you can't fit in this into your diet, go with a meal replacement shake that has your greens, your antioxidants, your vitamins, your minerals.\n\nAdd some water, shake it up, you can travel with it, go for it and you're good to go. So these are all pre and post workout? Pre and post, yeah. You just want to make this a part of your lifestyle.\n\nI love. Your body will respond well when you have a proper diet. And the last one, hydration. You have to hydrate.\n\nMost of our body is composed of water, so if you're not giving your body enough water, then it's going to be really difficult. I actually am a big fan of using alkaline, hydrogen infused water. I have a tyent water ionizer and I love it because I do too. Are you obsessed like I am?\n\nIt's so good. What about your skin also? Do you find your skin? Yes. In hydrated.\n\nIt's amazing. We have to go to break, but. We need to discuss. Okay.
